This is an original production cel and background setup from the Walt Disney Studios production of Lady and the Tramp (1955). This gorgeous setup features a wonderful image of Lady standing inside of the closet in the nursery, after the baby's crib had been knocked over. The cel and background are from different scenes in the film, but the wonderfully surprised image on Lady's face superbly matches the dramatic scene which has occurred in the room, just as the closet door is about to be closed. Both pieces were hand-painted at the studio and used during the production of the film representing actual imagery that was photographed and appears in the film. The overall measurements of the piece are 17.75" x 27.75" framed with the mat opening measuring 8.5" x 18.5", with the image of Lady measuring 3.5" x 4" on a 12.5" x 16" cel. Both the cel and background are in excellent condition, and both pieces exhibit the absolutely beautiful imagery that was created for this beloved classic.
