A charming ceramic figurine inspired by the Disney Studios animated Mickey Mouse short "The Pointer" (1939). Featuring Mickey sitting and reading while wearing his hunting attire, the figurine was created by German Ceramist Goebel in the 1950s. Due to the success of Goebel's prolific M.I Hummel line, Walt Disney granted the company a license in 1952 to begin producing ceramics based on the Studios beloved characters. The piece is inscribed with the manufacturer's production marking "Dis 78." Measuring 1.75"x1.5" and 3.5" tall, the figurine is in good condition with wear from age and paint imperfections. The piece has been repaired by a previous owner and displays a crack between the head and shoulders.
